Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of this site and its store check (together, “the Service”), run by Store AEO. By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

The check reads a few of a store's publicly available pages, including one product page and its robots.txt file, the way AI assistants' crawlers do, and shows what those pages make available to them.

For Shopify stores, it also asks Shopify's public AI shopping endpoints about that product and the store's written policies, and checks whether the store's own address offers the connections AI shopping agents look for. These requests are read-only.

We don't access any non-public data, sign in to any store, make changes to any store, or interact with any Shopify admin.

Results are produced automatically and are indicative only. They reflect what was publicly reachable at the moment of the check, and stores, firewalls and AI assistants change over time, so a later check can give different results. Where a page was blocked, slow or couldn't be read, results may be incomplete. Automated checks like this have an inherent margin for error. “Searchable” and “Not searchable” are our own assessment, against the rules described on this site.

We don't guarantee that results are complete, accurate or error-free, or that acting on them will lead to any particular outcome, including being shown or recommended by any AI assistant. Results are not a formal audit, certification, or professional, legal or technical advice. You are responsible for any changes you make to your store, its settings or its files based on them.

Only check stores you own, work for, or have explicit permission to check. Use the Service lawfully and in a way that doesn't harm others or restrict anyone else's use of it.

Automated or bulk use of the Service, including scripted requests and scraping, is not allowed without our prior written consent. Don't try to overload the Service, get around its limits or bot protection, or access any part of our systems or data without permission. We may limit, suspend or refuse access to anyone at our discretion.

After your result, you can book a free call to go over it. The free breakdown covers one store per email. We take on a limited number of stores and may decline any request. Any paid work is scoped and delivered under a separate agreement, which governs that work.

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Copilot and Shopify, and their logos, are trademarks of their respective owners. They are shown only to identify the services the check relates to. Store AEO is a Shopify Partner; the Service is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Shopify, OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google or Microsoft.

Parts of the Service rely on third parties, such as our booking calendar. We aren't responsible for their services, content or availability, and their own terms apply to your use of them.

The Store AEO name and logo, and the content, design and code of the Service, belong to Store AEO or our licensors. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce, modify or distribute our content without permission. Product names, images and other content read from a store belong to that store.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Store AEO and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or its results, including lost revenue, lost sales, or lost search or AI visibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the free Service is limited to CAD $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold Store AEO harmless from any claims, losses or costs arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms, including checking a store you had no right to check.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We may update these terms from time to time and will post the revised terms here with a new date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
