Privacy Policy

This site is run by Store AEO. “We” and “us” below mean Store AEO.

When you enter a store address, we read a few of that store's public pages, the same pages any shopper or AI crawler can see. We also ask Shopify's public AI shopping endpoints about one of the store's products and its written policies, the same read-only way AI shopping assistants do. We keep a copy of the result for a day so the same store loads quickly.

When you ask for your breakdown, we collect your email and save it with the store's result: each item we checked, why it isn't searchable, the product we checked, and notes about the store's connections to AI shopping agents. To check that your email can receive mail, we look up its domain (the part after the @) through Cloudflare's public DNS service. When you answer the follow-up questions, we also collect your first name, your store's monthly revenue range and your role. We also record the site you arrived from, the campaign tags in the link, if any, and which version of this page you saw. When you book a call, our scheduling provider collects the details you give it.

When you browse the site, we collect basic usage data, such as pages viewed, with your permission.

We use your information to send you your breakdown, to prepare for your call, to decide whether we can take your store on, to schedule your call, and to email you about your results and our services. You can unsubscribe from those emails at any time with the link in each one. We use usage data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We don't sell your personal information.

We use these service providers to run this site: Cloudflare (hosting, bot protection and email-domain lookups), Shopify (whose public endpoints we ask about the store you check; we don't send Shopify your personal information), Sanity (the database for the details you submit), Resend (email delivery), Cal.com (scheduling), and, only if you allow it, Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. Their use of the information is limited to providing that service. Some of them are based outside Canada, mainly in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed there.

Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and are always on. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of the page. We don't advertise, so no advertising cookies are set.

A check's result is kept for about a day so the same store loads quickly. The details you submit, including your store's result, are kept for as long as we need them to work with you or follow up, and are deleted when you ask us to. The free breakdown covers one store per email, so for a year we keep a one-way hash of your email (not the address itself) with the store it was used for.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us below.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the revised policy here with a new date.
